Who doesn’t love guacamole? It’s super tasty, really filling and so versatile that it can be served so many ways. Guacamole is also full of heart healthy fats.Avocados, the main ingredient in this guacamole recipe, are high in the fatty acid oleic acid. Oleic acid has been linked to reducing inflammation in the body and fighting cancer. Guacamole is also loaded with fibre. Having enough fibre in your diet can reduce the risk of conditions like high cholesterol, constipation, high blood sugar, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity. The ingredients in this guacamole recipe are full of vitamins and antioxidants, which benefit your skin, hair and overall health.
2 ripe avocados
1/2 red onion (finely chopped)
1 tsp lime juice
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp coriander
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 jalapeno pepper (finely chopped) – if you like your guac with a bit of a kick!
- Cut the avocados in half and spoon the flesh into a bowl.
- Add salt and mash avocados until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, mix lemon and lime juices, red onion, coriander and jalapenos (if using).
- Add the liquid mix to the avocados. Mix and mash again.
