These little peanut butter cookie dough Boost Balls sounded scrumptious so I decided to give them a try. And they did not disappoint! They come in cute bags of three balls. The packs are perfect for popping in your gym bag. Each ball contains 59 calories, 2.4g of fat, 4.7g of carbs and 4.4g of protein. So eating the whole bag (which I just can’t resist doing!) is only 177 calories and you get a whopping 13.2g of protein.
I chose the peanut butter cookie dough flavour. It sounded great! Peanut butter and cookie dough, yes please! They tasted delicious. I could definitely taste the peanut butter. There was no hint of that funny protein taste that some of these types of products have. I would describe the texture as a bit like soft fudge. There were no lumps or bits. They were smooth and soft.
Now for the best bit. They are made from seven natural ingredients. That’s it! No added nonsense, just real wholesome stuff. They contain dates, whey protein, cashews, peanut butter, date syrup, maple syrup and a trace of sunflower lecithin. This means that they are vegetarian, gluten free, wheat free and an awesome source of fibre. They have none of the dodgy artificial preservatives or refined sugars that some protein treats have. They are just 100% natural.
I was seriously impressed by these peanut butter cookie dough Boost Balls. They come in the perfect snack size pack, which helped me with portion control. Each ball contains a good amount of protein. They are totally natural with no added nastiness. And they tasted really good. I honestly don’t have anything negative to say about them. I look forward to trying other flavours from the range. I’ve been eyeing up the coconut fudge cake flavour already!
